Chugiak rallied for four runs in the sixth inning and two in the seventh Saturday to slip past East 9-8 in an American Legion baseball game at Kosinski Fields.
Conner Cimmiyotti scored the winning on a sacrifice fly and then picked up the save for pitching the final inning. The win went to Deven Farriss, who struck out five of the 12 batters he faced in relief.
East, which led 8-3 going into the sixth, was led by Luke Schnellbaecher's two doubles and three runs.
South 10, Service 6
Matt Ilalio belted five hits, three for extra bases, and scored four times Friday to lead South past Service 10-6 in the inaugural baseball game at Taylar Young Memorial Field at South High.
South's bats were hot, with Brad Butcher getting three hits and Bryan Baker driving in three runs with two hits. Aaron Miller and Ryan Caron had two hits for Service.
Dimond 7, E. River 5
Dimond did all of its scoring in the final two innings Friday to grab a 7-5 win over Eagle River. An Eagle River threat in the bottom of the inning came up short, producing just one run.
