NEW YORK (AP) - Citigroup Inc. has named Jerome Byers head of small business banking as the company works to expand its offerings in the area.
Citi said Byers will keep his position as president of its central region, which includes Illinois and Texas, and he is Citi's Chicago market president. The company hired Byers about a year ago from Wells Fargo.
Citi's small business banking business was previously led by Raj Seshadri. Seshadri was hired by investment manager Blackrock Inc. as head of its iShares exchange-trade fund business.
The company also said it hired Jane Navarria to take the newly created position of head of small business sales strategy and execution.
