Minor earthquake hits near pipeline pump station

FAIRBANKS -- A minor earthquake occurred this morning just 14 miles northwest of Pump Station 6 on the trans-Alaska pipeline. No damage was reported.

The Alaska Earthquake Information Center says the quake had a preliminary magnitude of 3.8 and occurred at 12:19 a.m. Wednesday west of Stevens Village.

The center says the quake was felt in Fairbanks.
