A worker at Trident Seafoods' fish processing plant in Akutan died early Wednesday, troopers say.
A man identified as 55-year-old Edgardo P. Sanchez of California became short of breath and had difficulty communicating before beginning his shift, according to a release from the Alaska State Troopers.
Sanchez collapsed and efforts to revive him were not successful, troopers said. His next-of-kin have been notified.
Troopers don't believe foul play was involved.
Akutan is in the Aleutian chain, a short distance from Dutch Harbor.
Trident's Akutan plant is the largest seafood processing facility in North America and houses up to 825 workers, according to the company.
