EAGLE RIVER -- Ground is being cleared in Eagle River for a commercial plaza that will include new headquarters for Eklutna, Inc.
The Chugiak-Eagle River Star reported that site work is being completed on the 10-acre plot of land on the Old Glenn Highway.
Gravel removal should be completed by mid-August. Eklutna, Anchorage's largest land owner, will have its new headquarters on the land. The site has room for other commercial buildings too.
Eklutna, Inc., CEO Curtis McQueen said their new headquarters will face the highway as a reminder of the Native corporation's presence.
He hopes to be in the new building in about two years.
