Crow Creek Pipes and Drums also performs in Anchorage

Published: July 7, 2012

While not wanting to detract from the accomplishments of Ms. Fall and the Red, White and Blue Crew, I want to correct errors in your July 4 article about them.

The Red, White and Blue Crew is not the only marching band in Anchorage. Nor has it been the only marching band performing in the Anchorage Fourth of July parade. Crow Creek Pipes and Drums marched in Anchorage's Fourth of July parade for the 11th consecutive year as part of the Anchorage Fire Department's contingent. Crow Creek won the Alaska Scottish Highland Games pipe band competition this past weekend, proving once again that it is Alaska's top bagpipe and drum ensemble.

Crow Creek distinguishes itself from the Red, White and Blue Crew by playing substantially more than three tunes in a parade and playing in more than one parade each year. Crow Creek is an Anchorage-based nonprofit educational organization teaching and performing on highland bagpipes and drums for over 30 years.

People interested in playing bagpipes or snare, tenor, and bass drums are welcome to contact the band through its website.
