FAIRBANKS -- A 23-year-old Kentucky man is accused of sexually assaulting an acquaintance while the two were housesitting at a home in Fox north of Fairbanks

The Fairbanks Daily News-Miner reported Tuesday that Shawn C. Knight of Bee Spring, Ky., has been charged with first-degree sexual assault.

Alaska State Troopers say the woman told them Knight came into the room where she was sleeping early Thursday morning and held her down.

A criminal complaint says that after the assault Knight sent a text message to the woman with an apology and asking if they could still be friends.
