FAIRBANKS -- A criminal complaint says a woman who died of injuries sustained in a homeless camp in Fairbanks was a victim of domestic violence.

The Fairbanks Daily News-Miner says 57-year-old Rick Allen was expected to be arraigned Wednesday in the death of 58-year-old Ellen Rada.

The criminal complaint filed Tuesday afternoon says Allen told police on July 3 that he choked and punched Rada on the evening of June 27 at the camp. The complaint says Allen was angry that night because his girlfriend had accused him of being unfaithful.

Police say two witnesses at the camp told police they saw Allen assaulting Rada.

Rada died Sunday. An autopsy concluded she died from blunt force trauma.
