Juneau man cited for feeding bears at his home

Published: July 12, 2012

JUNEAU -- A Juneau man has been cited for leaving out food to attract black bears.

Alaska Wildlife Troopers say 60-year-old Keith P. Fuller was cited Sunday after an investigation found there was evidence human food was being left out at his home to attract bears. Authorities say fish parts, noodles and frozen shellfish were found in the yard.

The Juneau Empire says troopers and the Alaska Department of Fish and Game began receiving calls about problem bears in the Wickersham area of Juneau beginning in late May.

Fuller has been fined $310.
