Ballot set for Alaska primary election in August

Published: July 12, 2012

JUNEAU -- Alaska's primary election ballot is set.

Wednesday marked the deadline for political party candidates to have their names removed from the Aug. 28 ballot. Division of Elections Director Gail Fenumiai says there were no withdrawals on deadline day.

Besides the U.S. House and legislative races, voters also will be deciding two ballot measures. One would re-establish a coastal management program in Alaska. The other would allow a city or borough to raise the property tax exemption on a residence from $20,000 to up to $50,000.
