A 52-year-old Anchorage man will spend 15 years in prison after pleading guilty to distributing child pornography.
Jeffrey VanCamp was sentenced Monday by Anchorage Superior Court Judge Michael Spaan.
A release from the Office of Special Prosecutions says Alabama authorities contacted Anchorage police in March 2011, saying a person with the screen name "poetryman1232005" sent explicit child pornography images to someone using the online persona of a 15-year-old.
The next month, a Seward woman contacted Anchorage police, saying a man with the "poetryman1232005" screen name sent her images of child pornography.
Police investigated and found VanCamp used the "poetryman1232005" screen name. An investigation of his computer found thousands of child porn images had been sent in online chats.
Police say there's no evidence any child in Alaska was harmed.
