FAIRBANKS -- Police say a 12-year-old boy has died of an apparent gunshot wound at a home near Fort Wainwright.

Lt. Dan Welborn says a second 12-year-old boy was involved in the Wednesday afternoon fatality. Welborn tells the Fairbanks Daily News-Miner that the boy who died did not live at the home. The second boy was a resident of the house.
