Bartlett 7, Service 5 in legion baseball

Bartlett defeated Service for the first time in four years Thursday, taking a 7-5 American Legion baseball victory at Chad Bax Field.

Ryan Dudley drove in the winning run with a fourth-inning single that scored Junior Wilson and snapped a 5-5 tie. The Golden Bears built a two-run cushion in the seventh when Jimmy Gephardt singled to score Logan Williams, who was hit by a pitch.

Wilson struck out three in seven innings and had a pair of hits. Chris Pasquale was 3 for 3 with a run, Dudley was 2 for 3 with two runs and Williams was 2 for 3 with two runs.

Chugiak 5, Dimond 0

Justin Schneider struck out seven and scattered five hits in a seven-inning, complete-game shutout Thursday in Chugiak's 5-0 win over Dimond at Oberg Field.

Chugiak scored three runs in the first inning and added insurance with RBI singles by Cameron Fritz and Deven Ferriss in the second and fifth innings, respectively. Chase Gall drove one of the first-inning runs and the other two scored on an error.

Dylan Lauwers struck out 11 in a complete-game effort for Dimond.
