I agree with Les Gara that "there are smarter ways to streamline emergency pesticide use, and fight things like invasive plant species, without stifling the public when it comes to protecting our fish, wildlife, game, and children."
Eliminating public input is NOT the way to run a responsible toxic pesticide program, contrary to the suggestion of regulators wanting to curb public input. Regulators have power to waive notice and comment regulations when there is an "emergency" such as the aforementioned "environmental" emergency involving the spread of non-native invasive plant species. Here's hoping they use that power for the good of us all.
