Duo topped men's, women's fields for Alaska State Amateur titles.

Greg Sanders shot a round of 70 for the third time in four days to collect the Alaska State Amateur golf championship Sunday.

Sanders carded an even-par 70 for the second straight day at Settlers Bay Golf Course in Knik. Combined with his scores at the Moose Run Creek Course -- a first-round 70 and second-round 75, the only time he didn't make or break par -- Sanders finished with a 72-hole total of 285.

Terri McAngus, who had all but secured the women's championship after the two rounds at Moose Run, put an exclamation point on her repeat victory Sunday by shooting her lowest round of the tournament, a 74.

That gave her a 314 total, 13 strokes better than Rose Pelletier. Pelletier had three solid rounds but was doomed by a second-round 83.

Sanders beat runnerup Kevin Daniels by eight strokes for the men's title.

Daniels put together two strong rounds at Settlers Bay -- 70 on Sunday, 73 on Saturday -- to claim second place at 293, one stroke ahead Paul Blanche.

Sanders and Daniels were among three golfers to shoot par Sunday. The other was McKenzy Haber, a teenager from Homer who placed seventh at 299.

Twice during the tournament, golfers dipped below 70. Marcus Dolejsi fired a 67 Saturday at Settlers Bay for the lowest round of the four-day tournament. Chad Isaacs, who tied for fourth place with Adam Baxter, was a stroke behind at 68 Saturday.
