FAIRBANKS -- Fairbanks police have arrested a suspect in a shooting that wounded two people at a Fairbanks apartment over the weekend.
Eighteen-year-old Christian A. Williams has been arrested on a first-degree felony assault charge. He was scheduled to appear in court Monday.
According to the Fairbanks Daily News-Miner, police received a report of gunshots at an apartment building on Saturday afternoon.
Police say 29-year-old Devante R. Woods was shot in the abdomen and taken to the intensive care unit at Fairbanks Memorial Hospital. The other victim, 20-year-old Olajahwon R. Qunint, was hit in the right arm and required surgery.
The suspected shooter ran into the woods behind the apartment and was detained after police set up a perimeter.
