FAIRBANKS -- Randi Carnahan, general manager of the Tanana Valley Fair Association, told the Fairbanks Daily News-Miner that fair organizers listened to the community when making the decision to go smoke-free.
Fairgoers will not be banished to the parking lot to do their smoking. Three designated smoking areas have been evenly spaced throughout the fairgrounds.
The fair opens on Friday.
