Two inmates charged with assault of Juneau prisoner

Published: August 5, 2012

JUNEAU -- A convicted murderer and another inmate have been charged with assaulting a prisoner at Juneau's Lemon Creek Correctional Facility.

A grand jury Friday indicted 22-year-old Dirkston Gonzales and 28-year-old Christopher W. Davison on felony assault charges. They are charged with attacking Devin Moorhouse on June 7.

A state trooper investigator tells the Juneau Empire that Moorhouse lost three teeth in the attack in the prison gymnasium.

Gonzales is serving a 111-year sentence for murder and attempted murder in a 2007 shooting at a house party in Anchorage. The then-17-year-old was asked to leave the party but he returned with a handgun, shooting David "D.J." Irvin and seriously injuring another man.

Davison is being held on a car theft charge.

Moorhouse was arrested after a high-speed chase in May.
