Published: August 8, 2012

FAIRBANKS -- Fairbanks police are investigating a report of a woman who witnesses say was intentionally pushed under the wheels of a box truck.

Police told the Fairbanks Daily News-Miner they believe what occurred Tuesday evening was a deliberate assault.

Lt. Matt Soden says police detained a suspect. He says the 48-year-old woman was taken to Fairbanks Memorial Hospital. Witness Jennifer Gamerdinger told police she saw four people arguing and the victim get pushed and run over by the truck. She told police she didn't think the truck driver saw what happened, but he applied the brakes as soon as he knew something was wrong.
