A moderate earthquake was recorded Friday morning off Alaska's remote Aleutian Islands. The Alaska Earthquake Information Center says there were no immediate reports of it being felt or of damage.

The earthquake was recorded at 10:37 a.m. AKDT, at a depth of 10 miles. The epicenter was about 110 miles southwest of the fishing port of Dutch Harbor.

The Alaska Earthquake Information Center initially put the preliminary magnitude at 5.0 but later revised it to match the magnitude 6.2 announced by the U.S. Geological Survey.

The West Coast and Alaska Tsunami Warning Center in Palmer said a tsunami wasn't generated by the earthquake.
