Governor orders flags lowered to honor Adams

Gov. Sean Parnell has ordered that state flags be lowered to half-staff on Wednesday to honor former longtime Alaska state lawmaker Al Adams, who died this week Adams died Monday at his Anchorage home after a long illness. He was 70 years old.

Adams was born in Kotzebue and represented Northwest Alaska in the state House and Senate from 1981 to 2000.

Services are scheduled in Anchorage on Wednesday and Kotzebue on Friday.
