Four-wheeler collides with semi-truck near Fairbanks

Published: August 14, 2012

FAIRBANKS -- An 18-year-old Fairbanks man was injured when his four-wheeler collided with a semi-truck.

Alaska State Troopers say the accident Monday evening at Rainbow Drive and Chena Hot Spring Road probably would have been much worse if he had not been wearing a helmet..

The Fairbanks Daily News-Miner says Brandon Clarence was taken to Fairbanks Memorial Hospital.

Trooper spokeswoman Megan Peters says the four-wheeler was traveling on a trail when it rammed into the side of the semi-truck that was turning left across the trail. The four-wheeler was demolished and the driver's helmet was destroyed.
