Pilot injured in crash near Healy

A pilot reportedly has non-life-threatening injuries after a plane crash near a glacier.

Alaska National Guard spokesman Maj. Guy Hayes tells KTUU the crash occurred Wednesday afternoon near Healy when a pilot picking up a hunter crashed on landing near Surprise Glacier, about 180 miles southwest of Fairbanks.

Officials sent a search plane and helicopter to pick up the pilot.
