It's very discouraging to me as someone who's lived in Alaska for 66 years to think of the giants who have sat in the governor's office and shepherded this state into a great and prosperous future. They were visionaries who loved this state and wanted the best for it and its people.
Govs. Jay Hammond, Wally Hickel, Bill Egan come to mind, and then we fast forward to today when we have Gov. Parnell, who seems to want to give billions in tax reductions to the oil companies with no return for our money. And he didn't even have his minions able to answer the pointed questions that the very capable bipartisan coalition of senators had for them about the giveaway. This is the bipartisan coalition the governor wants to break up. I say let's keep them to protect our future and our fortune.
