Associated PressAugust 21, 2012

About 50 paratroopers are expected to return to Anchorage late Wednesday from nearly a year's deployment in the eastern provinces of Afghanistan.

Joint Base Elmendorf-Richardson says the paratroopers are assigned to the 4th Airborne Brigade Combat Team, 25th Infantry Division.

About 220 of the brigade's 3,500 soldiers already returned from Afghanistan on two flights this month.
