East 3, Service 2

East knocked off Service in five sets Thursday in season-opening CIC volleyball action at Service High, winning 15-25, 25-20, 19-25, 26-24, 15-3.

Service's Erin Hess racked 21 assists in the loss, with Tayleigh Talmadge contributing 11 kills and six aces.

Dimond 3, E. River 0

Janell Fellen's 16 assists set Dimond up for a 25-22, 25-14, 25-12 win over host Eagle River to open the Cook Inlet Conference volleyball season Thursday.

Aliayah Lewis powered the Dimond defense with 16 digs, and Sierra Afoa scored six kills for the Lynx.

Elexa Walker dished eight assists for Eagle River, with Tess Anderson notching six kills and Morgen Wohrle making 16 digs.

Seward 3, Bethel 0

Seward cruised to a three-set win over Bethel on Thursday, winning 25-10, 25-22, 25-10 in a high school volleyball match.
