Does anyone else find it disconcerting to say the least that the Republican Convention's theme is "We Built This" while being held in a venue that was built with 62 percent government financing?
Indeed the "We" is we taxpayers who have all pitched in to create the tremendous infrastructure that our industry needs just as President Obama said before his words were twisted and taken out of context. "We" built the airports that the delegates will fly from and into as well as the roads they will travel on to complete their journey to the stadium that we taxpayers also built. Not built by individual business people but by we the people in order to provide for the common defense and ensure domestic tranquility.
Having this slogan while holding the convention in a venue built with taxpayer dollars so exemplifies what Garrison Keillor has said: "Republicans came to terms with hypocrisy long ago."
