Volunteers search for Marshall boater

Published: August 29, 2012

KYUK reports Alaska State Troopers have called off the official search for 33-year-old Paul Tinker.

He was last seen taking his boat up the Yukon River. His boat was found Aug. 20 on a river bank.

Troopers and volunteers searched for six days with no results.

However, volunteers are continuing the effort. Marshall Tribal Administrator Nick Andrew Jr. says it's important in villages to seek closure and search for as long as possible.
