US, state flags lowered today in honor of astronaut Armstrong

JUNEAU -- All U.S. and state flags will be lowered Friday in memory of Neil Armstrong, the first man to walk on the moon. Armstrong died Saturday at age 82.

President Barack Obama has ordered all U.S. flags to be lowered until sunset Friday in his honor.

The governor's office says Alaska state flags must be lowered in accordance with the president's order.
