Alaska pro bowlers sweep in San Jose

Alaskan bowlers Sean Rash and Ron Mohr each captured titles Sunday at the PBA West/Northwest Regions Don Johnson Memorial in San Jose, Calif.

Rash, 30, who grew up in Anchorage and makes his home in Montgomery, Ill., earned $2,500 for his victory.

Mohr, 56, of Eagle River, won $1,500 for winning the PBA50 event -- PBA50 is the re-branded PBA Senior Tour.

Rash and Mohr topped all qualifiers in their respective events.

Rash closed his victory in style Sunday with a 300. He has rolled 11 perfect games on Tour.

Rash is the 2011-12 PBA Player of the Year and has won five PBA titles, including two majors. His most recent Tour win was a major, the PBA Tournament of Champions. He led the Tour in winnings last season with $140,250 and in average (228.13).

The 2012-13 PBA season kicks off with a series of events in Las Vegas in November.

Mohr is a two-time PBA Senior Tour Player of the Year and has seized eight senior titles. He most recently captured the 2012 Senior Decatur Open.
