JUNEAU -- The U.S. Centers for Disease Control and Prevention is investigating a norovirus outbreak aboard a Princess Cruises ship on an Alaska cruise that sickened 114 passengers and 11 crew members.

KINY radio reported that two CDC officials boarded the Dawn Princess Friday when it was docked in Juneau.

Princess Cruises Alaska manager Kirby Day says only two cases remained when the Dawn Princess was docked in Juneau.

According to Day, the outbreak occurred while the ship sailed across from Asia during an extended cruise.

The CDC says the crew took preventative action that included increased cleaning and disinfection procedures and announcements of the outbreak to passengers.

The Dawn Princess left Glacier Bay and headed to Vancouver in Canada's British Columbia at last report.
