Vehicle crashes into liquor store

Published: September 10, 2012

A driver apparently got distracted and crashed her car into the side of an Anchorage liquor store.

KTUU-TV reported that before the driver on Sunday crashed into the side of the Anchorage Wine House in South Anchorage, she took out a stop sign and a street sign.

Store owner Talbot Chang says no employees were in the store at the time of the crash. He says one refrigerator and numerous bottles of alcohol were smashed or damaged.

He says it appears the woman went to reach for a switch to open the window and got distracted.

Chang says this isn't the first time a vehicle has ended up inside the store. He says last year, a truck backed into the front of the store for a robbery.
