I understand Alaska is receiving money from Japan to clean up tsunami debris, and our congressional delegation thinks the federal government should pony up more for the same task.

All the while, the state can somehow come up with about $2 million to fly Alaska residents to Anchorage to watch a college basketball tournament. Have we no shame?
