As an American living in America, when I call an American company in America I fully expect to converse in English -- don't insult me by asking me to punch in a number to speak in English. If you have customers who wish to converse in any language other than English, then ask them to punch in a number. It is a) a waste of time and b) insulting to delay a conversation pending selection of a language.
Why on Earth would any company succumb to that multi-culti, PC nonsense?
If you have a number of customers who can't speak English and wish to accommodate them in another language, that's fine, but don't do it at the expense of English-speaking customers.
