Last year's campers left mess for hunters to clean up

Published: September 15, 2012

This week my son and I returned from our hunting trip off the Denali Highway, more specifically the Coal Creek drainage. We were 15 miles off the highway and arrived at our favorite camp spot, only to find someone from last season left all their empty propane bottles and even a car battery behind, not to mention other trash spread all over the place.

I'm just curious as to what mentality it takes to do this. Total lack of respect for the land and future generations that may want to experience a nice, clean hunt. As usual, we cleaned up the area and hauled all the trash out with our already heavy loads, and yes, Mr. Budweiser, we even picked up the cans you left along the trail. I figure you left the cans on the trail because you're too stupid to find your way out! People, if you go hunting, at least bring your garbage out with you. Otherwise you give all hunters a bad name.
