Anchorage police have released the names of two officers involved in a shooting at a local hotel.
Police say the officers are Dan Thyen, who sustained a grazing wound to his back, and Joel Breiner. Police say Thyen is doing well and expected back at work Tuesday.
Thirty-seven-year-old Jason Barnum is suspected of shooting Thyen in a room at the Merrill Field Inn.
Barnum is charged with attempted murder and assault. He was arrested Friday morning after his release from a hospital for treatment of a gunshot wound.
Officers had gone to the motel to investigate a string of burglaries elsewhere in the city and were questioning three people in one of the rooms. Police say Barnum began shooting from the bathroom and officers returned fire.
