Corey Cogdell of Eagle River claimed 10th place Saturday in the International Shooting Sports Federation's World Cup trapshoot final in Slovenia.

She was the second American finisher, behind Kayle Browning of Wooster, Ark., who finished sixth.

Cogdell, a two-time Olympian who won the bronze medal at the 2008 Beijing Olympics, started strong by hitting 22 of 25 targets in the first round. But she hit only 19 in the second round and finished with a score of 64 out of a possible 75, failing to advance to the finals.

The competition, the last of the season, was an invitational-only event featuring the best shooters in the world.
