The deadline to register to vote for next month's general election is Sunday.
Lt. Gov. Mead Treadwell oversees elections in the state. He says in a release that registration forms can be downloaded at www.elections.alaska.gov and submitted by email, fax or mail.
Regional election offices in Anchorage, Fairbanks, Juneau, Wasilla and Nome will be open on Saturday and Sunday for those needing to complete their registrations in person.
Anyone updating or completing a new voter registration after Sunday will have to vote with a questioned ballot on Election Day. Treadwell says that could include waiting in a long line since there's expected to be higher turnout because of the presidential election.
