— Eagle River's Wesley Bennice and Jacob Klaameyer were the only unseeded players to survive the quarterfinals of the state high school tennis tournament Friday at the Alaska Club North.

Bennice and Klaameyer knocked off third-seeded Ryan Burke and Jacob Hebard of Monroe 6-2, 6-4 in the boys doubles quarterfinals.

Other than that, the top four seeds in each division advanced to Saturday morning's semifinals, including South High's Whitney Williams and Eddie Lewis, the top seeds in girls singles and boys singles, respectively. Neither lost a set while winning their quarterfinal matches.
