Cassel unlikely to play vs. Bucs

Published: October 8, 2012

Kansas City Chiefs quarterback Matt Cassel is unlikely to play on Sunday against the Tampa Bay Buccaneers, according to head coach Romeo Crenel.

Cassel sustained a concussion in Sunday's loss to Baltimore after taking a vicious shot from Haloti Ngata in the fourth quarter. Following the hit, Chiefs fans began to cheer the injury, garnering much criticism from various media outlets.

Crenel said backup Brady Quinn will take Cassel's reps in practice and will likely get the start for the 1-4 Chiefs, who will look to snap a three-game slide.

Quinn, in his fourth NFL season, has 1,934 yards, 10 touchdowns and nine interceptions during his career.
