FedEx plans to open new $7M distribution center

DELTA TOWNSHIP, Mich. (AP) - FedEx Corp. is planning to open a new $7 million distribution center next summer in the Lansing area.

The Lansing State Journal reports ( ) construction is under way at the site in Eaton County's Delta Township. It replaces one in Clinton County's Watertown Township.

Delta Township says 80 workers will transfer to the larger, 147,000-square-foot facility and an additional 20 to 50 jobs are expected to be created.

An aim of the new center is to improve package delivery.
