— Passers-by found a woman's body outside in North Anchorage on Thursday, the second such discovery in two days.

It was about 1:15 p.m. Thursday when two men saw the dead woman along a fence just north of the old Park Lanes bowling alley in Mountain View, said police spokesman Lt. Dave Parker.

"They were walking by and quickly ran to a nearby residence and had the police summoned," Parker said. "It was easily identified as a female."

Detectives and crime scene investigators were looking at the body and the surrounding area Thursday afternoon. A yellow evidence marker could be seen closer to Mountain View Drive, north of the body.

On Wednesday, a man walking through a wooded lot north of Dowling Road also found a dead woman. Police identified her Thursday as Michelle Felber.

When asked if the recent onset of cold weather might be to blame for the deaths, Parker said police do not yet know the cause of death in either case.

"The one yesterday had been there quite a while, so we couldn't say for sure if (colder temperatures were) a factor," Parker said. "The one found today, we'll have to wait and see what the medical examiner determines as the cause of death. It could be a complete coincidence."
