Wine of the week: 2010 Savion Vouvray

Published: October 11, 2012

Don't be such a snob that you only drink dry. Sweet wine, come on! There's more to it than just Germany or America's newest love child, muscat. Have you tried Vouvray? The 2010 Sauvion Vouvray is a good one available now. Vouvray is an area on the Loir River in France that grows chenin blanc. This one is delicious: focused, sharp and sweet all at the same time. It features white-stone fruits and pears, with a light mineral. Good as an aperitif, great with fruits and cheeses. About $14.
