Regarding Gov. Parnell’s oil tax plan, Bob Lewis wrote: “Les Gara and the Senate coalition don’t seem to understand that the reduced taxes would result in increased oil production and increased revenue. More oil equals more dollar volume and more tax revenue for Alaska” (Letters, Oct. 20).

This reminds me of an old business joke:

“How do you plan to buy for $1 and sell for 75 cents and stay in business?”

Answer: “We’ll make it up in volume.”
