Police have arrested a 21-year-old Anchorage man accused of stabbing a man over an unpaid debt Sunday at a South Anchorage trailer park, a department spokesman said.

Mark Kalugin is charged with first-degree assault, police said.

The attack came at about 5:10 p.m. at 9499 Brayton Drive, police said. Rasean Daniels, 20, told police that he was sitting in his girlfriend's car outside her home when Kalugin appeared wearing a mask. Kalugin opened the door and demanded money, Daniels told police.

The two men fought and Kalugin stabbed Daniels, police said.

Daniels suffered multiple stabs to his back, according to police. He was treated at a local hospital and is expected to survive.

Kalugin is scheduled to appear in court Monday with his bail set at $25,000, according to police.
