Police seek woman who robbed tobacco shop

Robbery/Assault detectives are requesting the assistance of the public in identifying a female who committed an armed robbery of the Alaska Tobacco shop at 751 East 36th on 10-30-12 at 16:18 hours. The suspect is an Asian female, 20-25 years old, 5’3” tall, 120 pounds. She wore a purple Northface jacket, sunglasses, a black head band, blue jeans, tan boots and brandished a handgun. Anyone who has information about this suspect should call APD immediately at 786-8900. The photograph is from the store security cameras.

Anchorage police are looking for a woman who robbed a Midtown tobacco shop Tuesday.

Surveillance video captured images of the woman pointing a handgun at a clerk about 4:18 p.m. Tuesday inside the Alaska Tobacco shop at 751 E. 36th Ave., police said in a written statement. She took an undisclosed amount of cash and left, police said.

The woman is believed to be 20 to 25 years old, 5 feet, 3 inches tall and about 120 pounds. She was last seen wearing a purple North Face jacket, sunglasses, a black headband, blue jeans and tan boots, police said.

Anyone with information on the suspect's whereabouts is asked to call police at 86-8900.
