Goalie joins the Aces on the road

Posted on November 3, 2012

The Alaska Aces have a back-up goaltender for the five-game road trip that opens tonight in Stockton, Calif. -- rookie Brooks Ostergard has joined the ECHL club.

Ostergard last spring wrapped a four-year career at Robert Morris University. His career numbers in college: 39-41-12, 2.73 goals-against average, .917 save percentage and three shutouts. He played one game for the now-defunct Chicago Express of the ECHL after finishing his college career. Ostergard was in training camp with ECHL Orlando.

The Aces needed another goalie because James Reid is hurt and on the 21-day injured reserve.

Mark Guggenberger will start in net tonight against the Thunder.
