Police search for suspect in attempted burglary

Published: November 6, 2012

Anchorage police are chasing a suspect in an attempted burglary on foot through wooded areas off the Glenn Highway.

The man was seen by a neighbor trying to kick down a door roughly in the area of 14th Avenue and Muldoon Road around 10:30 a.m. Tuesday, according to Anchorage Police Department spokesman Lt. Dave Parker.

"We zipped out there and he started running and running and running," Parker said.

Police have been searching for him with canine units and military police from Joint Base Elmendorf-Richardson ever since, Parker said.

The pursuit has stretched to the area near Moose Run Golf Course, off Arctic Valley Road.

Police say they don't think the man is armed.
