The Snow Child

Eowyn Ivey, the author of “The Snow Child,” is back home in Chickaloon after a five week international tour that took her from Paris to Tacoma, with stops in Australia, New Zealand and London. Her return to Alaska coincides with the paperback release of her novel, which she will mark with a booksigning at Fireside Books in Palmer from 11:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. on Saturday, Nov. 10.

Since “The Snow Child” was published by Little, Brown and Company in February of this year, the fantasy based on a Russian folk tale and set in territorial Alaska has sold 100,000 copies and been distributed in more than 30 countries in more than 20 translations. It has appeared on national and regional best-seller lists in America, Britain and Norway and is on the short list for the Center for Fiction’s Flaherty-Dunnan First Novel Prize.

The prize will be announced in December. Ivey expect to be in New York City that month, when she will also be attending book events in London.
