Sen. Mark Begich will kick off Veterans Day weekend with a town hall meeting for veterans. The event is set for 1:45 to 3 p.m. Saturday at Begich Middle School auditorium, 7440 Creekside Center Drive.

Begich is a member of the Senate Veterans' Affairs Committee. He wants to hear from veterans about their benefits, access to health care, job opportunities and other issues, according to a statement from his office.

Begich said he plans to report what he hears in Anchorage back to the committee.
